Dear Diary,

You know what’s even worse than a decrepit haunted house? The basement of a decrepit haunted house. What should have been a normal wine cellar had a CORPSE in it, and the corpse had ROT GRUBS – which must be just about the grossest thing in Faerûn.

At least the corpse had a blood trail that led to the – you guessed it – SECRET PASSAGE WITHIN THE FIREPLACE! I KNEW that would pay off one of these times! Beyond it was a series of rooms – from what we can tell, it seems smugglers have been making use of them.

Whoever’s been down here, they warned everyone away from one door in particular with a big ‘DANGER’ sign – but Art Fight’s never been one to pay too much attention to big danger signs… inside was a bunch of skeletons and I think maybe the ghost of the wizard who used to own the place? Wisteria got a nifty luck stone off of the wizard – and we found his secret laboratory too! All the books and stuff were about alchemy, and there was a bunch of gold stuff in there – maybe that’s the treasure Mad Molly wants?

Anyway, I should probably mention that right now were in a series of cavernous passageways that seem to lead from the basement to the sea. Marty taught us we need to watch the ceiling for acidic green slime – that stuff will eat away at you like a motherplucker!

We also found some valuable bolts of silks and casks of brandy down here… but more pressing is this battle that seems to be going on near the water’s edge… Dietanium says it’s some humans and some… fish-people?? Something tells me I don’t want to be pals with folks on EITHER side…

Dear Diary,

Things I’ve learned about sailing: it is REALLY easy to get seasick. I’ve been managing pretty well with some meditation, but Marty was snarfing off the railing of the ship all last night! Most of us have been feeling it to some extent – except for DIETANIUM; she’s runnin’ ‘round lookin’ like she was born on a ship!

We got a little break from the rolling when we stopped at Pandira, though… it’s an island where no one kills anything! Can we, like, LIVE here please?? But seriously, we’re just here to retrieve some gold that’s owed to Captain Molly… I guess it’s in this dead wizards house? Between you and me, I’m not convinced that the money is really owed to the Captain… but… what’s a dead wizard gonna do with it?

Did I mention I’m writing from his kitchen right now? We’ve been wandering through his gross house for a while now (do NOT even get me started about the spiders; it still feels like they’re in my hair, even though DIETANIUM essentially went over me with a flamethrower).

Wisteria said it looks like no one’s been living here for over a decade – very weird. The family of giant weasels out in the garden weren’t much help either, even though Rave tried her darnedest to befriend them.

We have found SOME stuff though – Shinobi is fanboying over some books about magic that were in a library type room; I like the pictures in the one about gems! And Marty found a mysterious trapdoor we can’t open… Gives me hope that maybe there IS a big treasure here after all… Will follow up later, bye for now, Diary!

AUUUGH, a blood curdling scream just tore through the kitchen!! And there was that booming death warning earlier… we gotta find out what’s goin’ on on that front before someone pees their pants. 😡 Into the cellar!
